APKTrue APK Safety / Testing Policy

APKTrue APK Safety & Testing Policy

APK files allow Android users to install applications manually.

However, APK files obtained outside an official app marketplace can carry additional risks.

At APKTrue.com, we encourage users to take APK safety seriously.

Our Approach

When APKTrue directly tests or reviews an APK, we aim to clearly distinguish information we have verified ourselves from information supplied by an external source.

We should not describe an APK as “100% safe,” “virus-free,” or “fully secure” unless there is sufficient evidence to support that statement.

Even scanned files cannot be guaranteed to remain completely risk-free.

Checks We May Perform

Where practical, APKTrue may review information such as:

1. File Name

We check whether the APK filename appears consistent with the application being discussed.

2. File Size

Where possible, we record the actual size of the tested file instead of guessing.

3. Version

We may verify the app version through installation information or available app metadata.

4. Package Information

Where available, we may check the Android package name to help distinguish applications with similar names.

5. Permissions

We may review permissions requested by an application.

Users should pay attention when an app asks for access that does not appear necessary for its function.

6. Malware Scanning

Where appropriate, APK files may be checked using reputable malware-scanning tools.

A clean scan reduces certain risks but does not guarantee complete safety.

7. Installation Testing

Where practical, APKTrue may install an application on a test Android environment or compatible device to observe whether installation succeeds.

8. Basic Function Testing

Testing may include checking:

  • Whether the app opens
  • Basic navigation
  • Login or registration screens
  • Compatibility
  • Obvious crashes
  • Visible permissions

Testing does not guarantee every function or transaction offered by an app.

APKTrue Does Not Guarantee Third-Party Apps

APKTrue does not control external developers.

An app that appears safe at one point can later:

  • Receive a different update
  • Change permissions
  • Change ownership
  • Change its server behavior
  • Become unavailable
  • Be replaced by another file

Users should therefore perform their own checks before installation.

Recommended User Safety Steps

Before installing an APK:

  1. Verify the source.
  2. Check the file name.
  3. Review app permissions.
  4. Scan the file where practical.
  5. Keep Google Play Protect or equivalent security enabled.
  6. Keep Android updated.
  7. Avoid “MOD,” “unlimited money,” or cracked APKs from unknown sources.
  8. Do not disable important security protections unnecessarily.
  9. Do not give apps passwords or OTPs they do not need.
  10. Remove suspicious applications immediately.

Financial Apps and Real-Money Games

Extra caution is recommended for apps involving:

  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Mobile wallets
  • Payment cards
  • Real-money games
  • Account balances

APKTrue cannot verify or guarantee a third-party operator’s financial reliability merely by checking an APK file.

APK safety and financial trustworthiness are separate issues.

Reporting Suspicious Files

If you believe a file or app linked or discussed on APKTrue is:

  • Malicious
  • Misleading
  • Impersonating another app
  • Requesting suspicious permissions
  • Redirecting users unexpectedly

please report it through our Contact Us page.

Include the relevant page URL and a description of the issue.

Our Commitment

APKTrue aims to improve transparency around APK information.

When we have not tested something directly, we should avoid presenting it as tested.

When information is uncertain, we aim to state that clearly.
